Full Job Description

You'll play a key role in ensuring our accounts payable function's smooth and efficient operation. This involves supporting the accurate and timely processing of payments to our suppliers and vendors., As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you'll be responsible for:

  • Process invoices, expense claims, and payment requests accurately and efficiently.


  • Process employee travel expense claims accurately and efficiently, ensuring that all claims comply with company policy and are supported by appropriate documentation.


  • Code and input invoices into the accounting system, verifying details such as account codes, VAT, and payment terms.


  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner, including bank rec.


  • Prepare and process payment runs, including BACS.


  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including accruals and prepayments.


  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of accounts payable transactions.


  • Respond to queries from suppliers and internal stakeholders in a professional and timely manner.


  • Support the purchase ledger and management accountant teams with ad hoc tasks and projects as required.

  • Previous experience in an account payable clerk position or finance role.

  • Proficient in the use of accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • A proactive and flexible approach to work, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
