The Pricing and Risk manager plays a vital role in developing and maintaining robust analytical models to support lending decisions, interest rate risk management, and returns optimization within the Private Client business. This role requires a strong understanding of financial modelling, cash flow modelling, credit scoring, return on equity (ROE) modelling, and other relevant analytical techniques. The Pricing and Risk manager collaborates with stakeholders across the business, including finance, risk, treasury, product, and sales teams, to ensure alignment between technical elements and business objectives.

What are the main responsibilities of the role?

  • Interest rate risk management: Enhance the understanding and management of prepayment and pipeline risk. Collaborate with Treasury and Asset & Liability Management teams to regularly review exposure assumptions.

  • Regulatory Capital: Understand how future regulatory changes will impact Risk-Weighted Assets (RWAs) and pricing. Identify booking errors and propose ways to improve and optimize RWAs.

  • Model Development and Maintenance: Develop, maintain, and review accurate and robust analytical models to support lending decisions, risk management, and returns optimization. This includes affordability modelling, cash flow modelling, financial modelling, credit scoring modelling, ROE modelling, prepayment risk modelling, and IRB modelling. Regularly update and enhance existing models to improve accuracy, simplicity, and efficiency.

  • Model Performance Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate the performance of existing models, identifying areas for enhancement, and proposing changes to improve accuracy and efficiency. Conduct regular reviews of models to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

  • Data Analysis and Insights: Conduct in-depth analysis of data and market trends to identify patterns, insights, and opportunities for improvement in the technical aspects of the Private Client business. Provide actionable recommendations based on data-driven insights.

  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Support: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, risk, and product teams, to understand requirements and ensure effective implementation and utilization of models. Provide technical expertise and support to stakeholders involved in the Private Banking business.

  • By effectively fulfilling these responsibilities, the Pricing and Risk Manager contributes to the overall success of the Private Client business by providing robust analytical models, data-driven insights, and technical expertise. Their contributions support informed lending decisions, effective risk management, and optimization of returns. Through their expertise in financial modelling, pricing analysis, risk management, and collaboration with stakeholders, they play a crucial role in driving the growth and profitability of the Private Client business.
