Full Job Description

  • A long-term secondment to health clients as described above

  • Drafting Instructions to Counsel

  • Drafting witness statements

  • Research and drafting advice

  • Preparing Power Point slides and documentation for training events

  • Organising medical records

  • Preparing chronologies of medical records

  • Preparing bundles of documents for use at Inquests and Court of Protection

  • Note taking at Inquests, meetings and conferences with Counsel

  • Generally assisting associates, senior associates, legal directors and partners with their work load

  • Preparing of minutes following team meetings

  • Answering the telephone and assisting with queries

  • Assisting with administration tasks when required

  • A number of client orientated tasks that will be chargeable and will carry a billable hours target

    The ability to work independently in addition to as part of a team

  • Ability to deliver technically accurate and appropriate advice to clients, colleagues and others

  • Adheres to guidelines and procedures, whilst showing appropriate initiative

  • Demonstrates competence in own area of expertise

  • Demonstrates understanding of client needs/expectations

  • Ability to interact and communicate with client and keep them up-to-date

  • Excellent communication skills

The role will involve undertaking a wide range of advisory and mental health work for the NHS and other public and private organisations operating in the health and social care sector.

  • This role will involve a remote long-term secondment to a clients' legal team in Greater Manchester Mental Health based in Prestwich. Secondments are requested by clients from time to time as additional support. Training will be given.

    Job role: Paralegal - Full Time Secondment
