Full Job Description

As a Line Leader you will be Supporting the Production Manager in ensuring efficient running of production lines, achieving targets and filling out daily reports, Health and Safety

To ensure correct reporting of accidents or near misses to the Health and Safety Manager

To ensure employees are compliant to PPE and address where necessary

To ensure every member of staff is trained to the safe working procedure for the task

To identify training needs and to train individuals in how to conduct their tasks safely and to procedure.

To highlight any unsafe conditions to the Health and Safety Manager/Officer and Engineering Manager as soon as possible.

Complete safety Start Up checks for line at start of shift raising any issues to the appropriate manager.

Operations

Ensure adherence to SOP's when running the line and report issues or malpractice to Production Manager

Manage the line and area designated to you, taking responsibility for all food safety and operational issues as appropriate

Achievement of daily output targets

Extensive monitoring of Movex and Foss input, figures and giveaways need to be understood

Ensure accurate OEE recording of waste, inputs, outputs, and downtime - clarity & detail are key

Attendance at Production Meeting raising issues for improvements

Monitoring of performance on the line/area and report any issues or concerns to the Production Manager

Maximize output of the line by ensuring line speeds are maintained at the correct standards

Know what is expected versus actual hourly line output rates and identify reasons for shortfalls

Apply a flexible approach to working, including working on different lines and areas where required and supporting the operations team

Complete routine tasks without being prompted including any other duties relating to this role and Production Environment

Ensure a good understanding of all machines on your line, understand how to recognize faults and rectify them

Monitor performance - drive improvements and take accountability for your line

Support the need for training on the line and raise any training issues with Training Manager

Understanding and knowledge of the factory system (Movex Orders (MO's)

Engineering

Manage and report line breaks and break downs on Piranha / CMSS, seeking support from the Engineering team as required

Attendance at Production Meeting raising issues for improvements to Engineering

Understand Scada and the information it can give

Technical

Close out of Muddy Boots corrective actions in assigned time

Identify issues using route cause analysis on Muddy Boots

Manage line breaks and break downs, seeking support from the technical team as required

Maintain a clean as you go area and demonstrate good manufacturing practices

Attention to detail on Live sheets - blends / weighs etc., ensure this is correct

Provide Technical Dept. with support to close out Non-conformances and to address Customer Complaints

Finance

Ensure all decisions made are cost effective

To ensure Nextra works effectively, it is your responsibility to ensure your team do not clock in too early, sit in canteen but do not clock

Support with costings for new products, re how many people to run that product on your line

HR

Complete labour planning for the line including holiday and sickness cover

Ensure compliance with all company procedures and codes of practice to ensure a safe and hygienic workplace

Ownership for your team - monitor your staff in communal areas, changing rooms, facilities, canteen, smoking area, car park, always ensure good behaviour and that you lead by example by living the ABP values

Ensure you promote positive attitudes and behaviours, be inquisitive and communicate effectively with your team and others around you

  • Understanding of site KPI's and how your role contributes to achievement of these

  • Knowledge of customer requirements and specific retailer codes

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to delegate effectively when required

  • Ability to challenge others in a professional and constructive manner

  • Lead team in improving standards in relation to site environmental responsibilities

  • Self-motivated with a positive outlook

  • Focus on attention to detail and maintaining high standards

  • Ability to use a PC including word, email and in house computer systems
