An exciting new and unique opportunity to bring your skills and experience to bear in all areas of rural estate management and help shape, develop and drive a brand-new role here at Barfoots.

We are looking for a Rural Land Surveyor/Land Manager to cover our diverse property and land portfolio across, Hampshire, West Sussex and the Isle of Wight. Reporting to the Farm Director, duties and responsibilities will include assisting with day-to-day land management, negotiation & acquisition, along with farm, residential and commercial tenancy matters, inspections/reviews, environmental schemes and project management of planning and development schemes.

Working closely with landlords, tenants and local authorities, your strong relationship building skills will provide a solid platform to engage and advise at all levels.,

  • Preparing budgets for countryside stewardship, property and renewable energy assets

  • Estate & tenancy management

  • Property inspections and reviews

  • Landlord and tenant engagement & liaison

  • Sustainability measurement

  • A good working knowledge of ELMS, SFI & BPS

  • A solid understanding of relevant legal implications & tax issues

  • Prepare financial reports, budgets and forecasts related to the property portfolio

  • Remain conversant and up to date with relevant laws, regulations and industry standards

  • Rent reviews, negotiation of lease agreements, renewals and extensions

    Ideally RICS qualified, candidates will be highly proactive with excellent communication and organisational skills. Driven to develop this new opportunity, working collaboratively across our organisation. With good knowledge of land use, agriculture, asset & land management including environmental issues, conservation, sustainable development


  • Proven ability to analyse, interpret and resolve rural surveying problems and legal documentation using your findings to influence decision making and negotiation Strong demonstrable consulting skills: listening, building trust and acting to deliver a high-quality service,
  • Relevant industry qualification -MRICS preferred

  • Previous experience in a similar UK based role

  • Good working knowledge and experience in environmental issues, conservation, sustainable development and approaches to regenerative farming and nature base solutions

  • Good knowledge of land use, agricultural, asset management and land management

  • A team player, who enjoys working in a collaborative working environment

  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills

  • Sharp attention to detail, self motivated and driven

  • Full driving licence
