We're seeking a talented and experienced Internal Business Development Representative to help find new opportunities and effectively manage the sales process from initial enquiry to booking our client's first transformation programme. This role will suit someone who has the ability and gravitas to steer the direction of conversations with senior stakeholders, adding value to the prospect and building partnerships. You'll be results-driven and commercially astute with previous new sales experience, ideally in the HR/people management/leadership development/training arenas.

You're proactive and ensure that tasks are managed to schedule, nothing slips you by. You'll follow up on all leads generated from marketing campaigns/webinars or other activities and move leads through the pipeline milestones.

We operate in a digitally enabled environment, so you'll need to be a self-starter when it comes to using technology and able to harness a variety of resources to deliver the highest-quality results. Excellent knowledge of CRM systems would be useful as we track and monitor all our sales activity here. Our sales team works hard to deliver quickly, so you'll need to stay on top of things and not be phased by re-prioritising your workload as needed.

You'll work with colleagues to continuously improve our methods of advancing all leads and how we can successfully maintain contact with prospective clients. You'll support the delivery of various Business Development events, recommend new list acquisitions for generating outbound telephone leads, and collaborate with Mission Control (our Client Success Team) to ensure smooth handovers for our clients.

You're hungry to develop yourself and proactively seek to learn how to further develop your sales expertise. You'll participate in our award-winning STAR programme, where you'll gain a Level 3 qualification in your first 6 months and the opportunity to progress to a Level 5 STAR Operational Coaching and Management Practitioner qualification.

Business Development Responsibilities

  • Prospect, qualify and develop sales opportunities across the UK, USA, and other English-speaking territories

  • Source new sales opportunities to new prospects through outbound calls and emails and maintain daily call activity of 30+ calls per day

  • Liaise with the marketing team to research and recommend new list acquisitions for generating outbound telephone leads

  • Research and qualify all new inbound leads generated from marketing campaigns/webinars or other activities

  • Proactively follow up on all inbound leads by phone wherever possible or determine follow-up actions to help cultivate a warm relationship

  • Create and maintain accounts in the CRM system and log and track all activity

  • Plan follow-up campaigns e.g. using collateral at your disposal to provide value-added email content to potential prospects to help them along the sales processes

  • Host the first meeting to gather information/requirements and deliver a high-level value proposition with the outcome of driving a further meeting to include a Senior Manager from Notion

  • Create a brief for 2nd meeting for the senior manager attending

  • As an opportunity takes shape, record details into the CRM with tasks assigned to follow up

  • Agree with the senior manager on the meeting follow-up actions to progress the opportunity and implement them

  • Proactively take action to manage all identified opportunities through the pipeline milestones

  • Prepare quotations and generate proposals for potential clients

  • Close sales and achieve agreed KPIs and sales targets

  • Maintain communication with dormant customers and cold prospects to maintain awareness of their needs and create new opportunities

  • Support Mission Control, to sell other Notion services and offerings to existing clients that they're not yet purchasing

  • Book 10 meetings a week:

  • 5 new prospect Zoom appointments

  • 5 Zoom meetings to progress live opportunities

  • Develop 20 new qualified leads per month

  • Build, maintain and manage a pipeline of £2m in year 1, growing to £3m in year 2

  • Compile a weekly summary of activities, opportunities, meetings

  • Work with Mission Control to ensure strong client handovers, successful programme launches and support ongoing client partnerships

  • Complete administrative work, including filing reports or presenting data as required for sales KPI meetings

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar role, ideally in the HR/people management/leadership development/training arenas

  • Proficiency in CRM software, and Google Suite (or Microsoft equivalent)

    Remuneration Package


  • Job Type Full-Time, Permanent

    Salary Typical OTE in Year 1: £36,000 - £70,000
  • Basic of £30,000.00pa plus quarterly commission

  • Note: OTE is uncapped with the potential to earn £100,000+


  • Annual Leave: 20 Days Paid Holiday + 8 Bank Holidays Per Year
  • An Additional Day's Holiday Per Year Of Service (Up To 5 More Days)

  • An Optional 5 Days Of Unpaid Leave Per Year

  • Location Office Based (Leamington Spa)


  • Total salary comprises basic quarterly sales commissions and an annual performance bonus. Basic salary is also linked to business targets invoiced and can increase rapidly. OTE is uncapped and, for high performers, can quickly reach 6 figures., Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
