Full Job Description

At Lincolnshire Co-op, our Group Accountant team stands as a cornerstone in fortifying the financial backbone of our Society. Comprising a dedicated and talented group, the team ensures the alignment of our financial objectives with the broader operational strategies.
As our Group Financial Controller based at our Support Centre in Lincoln, you will be responsible for leading the control finance function, managing all finance and accounting operations / reporting, tax compliance, statutory reporting and filings, alongside compliance with all internal audit requirements as driven by the Risk & Assurance Committee.
In this role, you'll oversee the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, as well as taking direct responsibility for the delivery of consolidated accounts. Furthermore, you'll liaise with external auditors to ensure that a clean audit report is issued in accordance with Board approved timetables. You'll maintain up to date documentation of all relevant business processes and controls, ensuring team training is delivered to support and they are audit robust as well as identifying opportunities for process improvement within the control finance function.

INDMP

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with at least 5 years of experience in control finance.

  • A proven track record of leadership.

  • Excellent technical accounting skills.

  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with the capacity to convey complex financial information to diverse stakeholders.

  • Thorough knowledge of all relevant accounting principles and procedures

  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
