Pyrland School, part of the Richard Huish Trust, is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Cover Supervisor to provide quality learning in lessons when teachers are absent. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with an interest in educating young people and possibly someone who is working towards a career in teaching. The successful candidate should be self-motivated, enthusiastic and flexible and have the ability to work in a supportive manner to meet the needs of a busy and thriving school.

The academy is on a journey of improvement and has a strong staff team in place to ensure every child reaches beyond their potential. We have excellent pastoral support and our students report that they feel very happy and safe at the school. We are proud of our students and the relationships between staff and students are strong. Community engagement is also an important feature; a recent poll showed a high degree of parental satisfaction.

Pyrland School is an 11-16 academy in the north of Taunton. With modern, impressive facilities, the academy currently caters for approximately 890 students, with an increasing roll anticipated to see numbers rise to in the region of 1200 over the next few years. Taunton is Somerset's county town and has easy access to the M5. Somerset is a lovely place to live with the stunning Somerset Levels, Quantock Hills and Blackdowns on your doorstep.

Salary: Grade 12 Point 12

Hours: 37 hours per week (normal working hours 8.30am-4.30pm Monday-Thursday, 8.30am-4.00pm Friday). Other hours considered.
