This is a fantastic role for an experienced Bushcraft, Forest Schools or Woodland Skills Instructor who has the passion and drive to further develop the SOLD Little Squirrels product and coordinate the SOLD Woodland Skills offer across all sites and within our outreach service. You will motivate the team through great management, support staff with their professional development and training and inspire staff to deliver exceptional programmes.

Shortlisting criteria
To be considered for shortlisting for this position, your CV and personal statement will clearly evidence the following

• An understanding of, and experience in, the use of high quality outdoor learning in a range of settings and experience of working with groups with a range of different needs


• Experience of managing others


• Experience of risk management in a range of outdoor settings


• A Forest School / Bushcraft qualification L3 and relevant first aid qualification


• A positive and solution focussed approach and able to deal with crisis situations in a calm and professional manner

Our commitment

The starting salary for this permanent, full-time position is £29,697 per annum based on a 36 hour working week.
We are excited to be hiring a new Woodland Skills Coordinator at Surrey Outdoor Learning and Development! The primary base for this role will be at Thames Young Mariners in Ham, Richmond, TW10 7RX with a requirement to work across our other centres, and within our outreach team across Surrey.
The working hours may vary from week to week to meet business needs and there will be occasional evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
