Full Job Description

Vehicle Maintenance Officer - Swansea - 20 hours per week (7am -11:15am) - Monday to Friday, We are currently seeking a Vehicle Maintenance Officer to support with the upkeep of our company vehicles in our unique children’s residential home and school based in Mumbles and Gowerton.
Dan Y Coed, supports young people with Autism and complex associated needs and is based in West cross, Mumbles and Ty Trafle school in Gowerton.
A day in the life of a Vehicle Maintenance Officer with Orbis Education and Care Involves:

- Maintenance on all company vehicles and ensuring weekly safety checks are completed
- Actioning and ensuring all MOT and services are booked in.
- Ensuring general cleanliness of vehicles and maintaining high standards
- Assist service engineers and or sub-contractors to deliver effective utilisation and in understanding their responsibilities in managing their day to day performance.
- Proactively offer up to date information to the homes and Service Support Managers in relations to ongoing works
- Raising Purchase Orders for parts required
- To drive children and young people to various educational, recreational and social activities as requested by Management Team
- Assisting children and young people in accessing the community facilities, attending school and appointments; driving either the Company vehicle or Company Mini Bus

Car drivers are essential for this role due to the nature of the responsibilities
- Preferable experience working with vehicle safety checks and maintenance
- Knowledge & understanding of general Health & Safety issues
- Good administration & organisational skills
- Ability to maintain up to date records of vehicles, MOT’s & car parts
- Customer service skills, ability to make calls / emails to report issues with vehicles
- Ability to maintain relationships with third party businesses
