Full Job Description

The post holder will be responsible for all clinical and operational aspects of the post, as well as day to day line management of the Inpatient unit.
To have the responsibility to provide leadership for a Mental Health Team.
To ensure that nursing care is delivered to the highest standard at all times ensuring staff are kept motivated and up to date with new and innovative practices in the service while encouraging a collaborative approach to the delivery of care.
To ensure the philosophy of person-centred care is shared by the team, the patient/carer being central to the care planning process.
Participation in the delivery of service objectives, performance management, budgetary controls and service targets is an integral part of the role, as well as providing expert knowledge and advice to a wide range of service providers and users of the service., To work with the Service Manager to ensure that the team provides an appropriate service to the public within current legislation, regulations, guidance and the Health Board policies and procedures.
To be proficient in risk assessment and risk management for individuals receiving a service.To attend and prepare detailed reports for client reviews and other meetings as required.To liaise effectively with relevant community agencies, both statutory and voluntary.To actively contribute to the performance management of the service.
