Full Job Description

  • Conducting Independent End-Point Assessment (EPA) in line with the Sports Coach and Community Activator Coach apprenticeship standard assessment plans

  • Assessing and documenting apprentice competency against industry specific apprenticeship standards, at designated venues using the stated assessment methods

  • Reporting to the EPA Manager and contributing to the ongoing quality assurance and audit requirements of the business

  • Completing actions identified by EPA management in terms of the internal quality assurance process within the required timescales.

  • Identifying and reporting areas of best practice and development as required

  • Actively participating in required assessment and CPD training, standardisation and moderation activities, ensuring a consistent approach to EPA.

  • Maintaining a thorough knowledge of Elite Awarding's policies and procedures

  • Working overnight and at weekends as is reasonably required.

  • Travelling and managing own time effectively to meet EPA requirements.

    Hold a recognised learning / training / teaching qualification (QTS) and worked in school, community and/ or high-performance environments.

  • Minimum of five years' experience at a senior level in Sports Coaching


  • Assessors must have knowledge of the following occupational areas and who must have experience of coaching and assessing in one of the environments:

  • community sport and physical activity


  • school sport and physical education


  • high-performance sport as appropriate to the assessment environment.

  • Should be practising in the field or have left the field no longer than 36 months.

  • Experience should be validated as appropriate by at least two referees of appropriate

  • standing.
  • Demonstrate well developed ICT skills and show competence with e-portfolios and online

  • communication.
