Full Job Description

The purpose of this role is to support and manage the operational activity of the Business Intelligence team, to enable the business to best utilise the BI solutions. This role is responsible for Business Intelligence (BI) operational activity, including user support and communications, training, change request management, issue tracking and resolution

Please note this role is a hybrid role with at least 2 days a week in the Redhill office. Remote workers will not be considered.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Manage BI operational activity and communications.

  • Responsible for ensuring best practices, training, and documentation are in place to allow BI solutions to be used effectively by MI analysts within the business.

  • Implement and support processes and procedures within the BI Team to ensure best practices are followed and to prevent single-person dependencies.

  • Working with our 3rd party development team, provide support, prioritisation and tracking for issue resolution.

  • Working with our 3rd party infrastructure teams, monitor and maintain the availability of the BI platforms.

  • Maintain the governance and control of the SCUK BI platforms, ensuring appropriate processes are in place to allow analysts within other business areas to promote their code and reports to an IT-governed area.

  • Responsibility for supporting and ensuring technical controls and governance over SCUK reporting datasets.

  • Work with the BI Development Manager and our 3rd party development team to ensure that BI small changes are managed effectively to deliver changes to the appropriate level of quality, on time and on budget.

  • Support the business to maximise their successful usage of the SCUK BI solutions.

  • Manage the BI Operations team, including direct line management and resource management, to ensure effective delivery to the business.

  • Manage communications with stakeholders of all levels.

  • Change Management: Responsibility for the change management, tracking and communication of small (non-project) BI change requests and issues. Implementing and supporting procedures and processes within the BI Team. Manage BAU communication to business users, including user queries, issues, releases, outages, etc.

  • Issue Management: Responsible for tracking issues and resolving them in a timely manner to ensure that users can use the BI solutions with minimal disruption.

  • Training and User Support: Providing support to business users with training, training material and well documented release notes. Ensure the BI team provide a high standard of support for the data community, maintaining a positive and approachable demeanour, in line with Santander values.

  • Line Management: Direct line management of SCUK BI Analysts participating in operational activities. Prioritisation of work, setting and monitoring of objectives, performing quarterly and annual reviews, development of individuals, and delegation of activities within the team.

  • Data Platforms: monitor and maintain SCUK's data and analytics infrastructure, reporting frameworks and reporting solutions to ensure they support the strategic and operational requirements of SCUK, whilst aligning with the Santander Group IT governance framework and technical strategies and standards

  • Data Strategy: work with the rest of the data team to design and implement data initiatives which contribute to the SCUK data strategy and align to the overall company strategy.

    Practical experience in a similar role with demonstrable experience of managing and monitoring business intelligence solutions adapted to the organisation served

  • Proven experience and ability in dealing with staff at all levels of a similar sized organisation or larger is desirable

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Demonstrated initiative and commitment for results and the ability to set priorities and manage multiple initiatives

  • Ability to adjust to changing priorities while multitasking effectively

  • Solid work ethic with attention to detail

  • ITIL Foundation (or equivalent) is desirable

  • Prince II Practitioner (or equivalent) is desirable

  • Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP) is desirable

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in relevant field (e.g. Data Science, Computer Science, or Business Analytics) is desirable

    Competitive salary of £ 63,000 - £70,000 per annum dependent on experience
