An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, enthusiastic and motivated Quality Patient Safety Improvement Learning & Development Manager aligned to the Complex Care Division. This is a challenging and exciting role and we are looking for an exceptional candidate with the ability to lead and inspire others, working at pace in a challenged environment. The post holder will provide senior managerial support to the Head/ Deputy of Quality Patient Safety in the management of complaints, Ombudsman and Patient safety incidents across ABUHB. The post holder will undertake delegated responsibilities on behalf of the Head/Deputy of Quality Patient Safety within the guidance. The post holder will provide senior management support to staff at all levels in the co-ordination and investigation of concerns including Patient safety incidents and complaints which will require appropriate management of highly complex, sensitive and contentious information support to staff at all

To support the Head/Deputy of Quality Patient Safety via delegated responsibility, leading specifically on the implementation and embedding of all aspects of Quality Patient Safety and Putting Things Right regulations. Ensure that systems and processes are currently in place to support the management of concerns and where appropriate, link with the legal team and the Quality Patient Safety regarding redress for anyone harmed by the services provided. Ensure compliance with The Regulations and Guidance and ensure the best service for patients. Co-operate with other persons or responsible bodies to facilitate effective handling and investigation of concerns. Ensure that lessons from concerns are identified and effective mechanisms in place for sharing the learning widely both within and outside the Health Board.
Ensure that training on management of concerns is provided and that clear information on the concerns process is available to staff, patients and carers. Provide regular and ad-hoc reports within and outside the Health Board within agreed timescales. Promote a culture that is consistent with the principles of being open and honest and the Duty of Candour.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Please be advised that there is a temporary top up for Bands 1,2 and 3 to reflect the incorporation of the top up to the living wage of £12 per hour - £23,465 per annum. This temporary top up will be in place until the annual pay uplift for 2024/25 is confirmed
