Full Job Description

Thompsons Solicitors are currently looking for a Portal Paralegal to join us in our team based in Sheffield. This is a perfect role for someone who might be looking to transition to the legal sector as well as having a passion for helping people, as you will be managing a full case load of clients with relevant supervision, training and coaching. We welcome applications from all backgrounds/sectors as we can train you on the role itself once you are onboard.,

  • Working in our Sheffield office - you will initially be based onsite to support with your training however following this you will be eligible for hybrid working set up.

  • Primarily liaising with clients at different stages of their claim, you will be responsible for managing those portal cases including: Road traffic accidents, employer and public liability.

  • Day-to-day: Taking enquiries, managing clients via telephone and email - you will need to be confident in liaising with clients via all methods of communication.

  • Following conversations with clients you will also need to instruct medical experts, compile medical records, take witness statements, gather loss of earnings details and evidence of other financial losses. - The role is to acquire evidence of injuries and losses on those cases where liability has been admitted.

  • It is important that you manage client expectations and take ownership and accountability for your own case load.

  • Comprehensive training and ongoing supervision will be provided to ensure success in the role.

    This role requires strong organisational skills and the ability to work methodically in order to manage several cases at any one time.

  • A keen eye for detail along with outstanding communication and client care skills are key.

  • An appetite for working within a high performance environment.

  • An aptitude to learn, grow and develop.
