Full Job Description

To provide support and assistance in a busy office and craft workshop environment. The hourly rate is the starting rate but once fully trained and able to work totally unsupervised, this will be increased.

What you'll be doing

In the main:

· Updating MS Excel spreadsheet and inputting orders

· Replying to customer emails

Also:

· Monitoring customer emails to ensure urgent jobs and queries are dealt with immediately.

· Being the first point of contact for customers

· Answering the phone

· Researching & ordering new stock

· Doing regular stock checks

· Creating occasional invoices

· General light office duties including assisting with packing orders or assembling and gluing stationery during busy periods

· Assisting with franking post, organising, and tidying the office and generally helping colleagues wherever necessary,

    We are looking for a capable, friendly individual who will enjoy working with us and fit in well with our very small team. You will be a conscientious, reliable, polite, and friendly individual who has a particularly good eye for detail. You will be someone who is experienced in using a Mac desktop computer and proficient in MS Excel, MS Word and emails (preferably Gmail). You will be able to touch type and have excellent written English skills as you will be dealing directly with customers and will also need to spot and correct errors in customer orders. You will take pride in your work, be able to work to a high standard, and understand that our customers expect an excellent service.

    You will be someone who is tidy and organised and able to work efficiently to time constraints. Ideally you will also have an interest in art and crafts and be able to handle delicate stationery., Can you confirm you are proficient in MS Excel and MS Word and can touch type?, We are not looking for certified qualifications, just evidence of the skills required. We would like a personable, competent individual who is happy to work in a small team and help us complete the day-to-day tasks that enable us to produce beautiful stationery and keep our working environment clean and tidy., Mac computer (preferable)

    We are a small family business of 2 with 2 additional self-employed individuals. We design and produce customised wedding stationery in the main and our emphasis is on quality and customer service. We are a friendly team who absolutely love what we do and it varies and changes all the time so never gets boring.

    We need someone who will fit in and provide valuable assistance on a part-time basis for 3 - 4 days a week. These will always include a Monday (or Tuesday after a bank holiday) and a Wednesday. Hours and days are otherwise negotiable.

    Hours are likely to be around 20 - 30 a week, Mo - Fr, with mutually agreed hours/days. Weekends and evenings are not required.

    Pay/Salary

    Initially you will be paid an hourly, self-employed rate, beginning at £11.44 an hour as you learn about our products, the work process, and the administrative requirements. This will be reviewed and adjusted as you gain skills and prove yourself competent. Once you are able to work totally unsupervised, pay and hours can be renegotiated. Ultimately, we want someone who is able to take over the day-to-day administration for at least 3 days a week.

    Training someone new for this position requires a lot of time and effort on our part which is why you will start out on the lower hourly rate., Job Types: Part-time, Zero hours contract
