Horticulture apprentice

The Gardener role is vital to the efficient running of Grant Horticulture's garden management division. This role is hands on horticulture.

You will be responsible for assisting the senior gardener with the care, upkeep and

continued improvements of our client's prestigious, large-scale private family

gardens and estates. You will be responsible in assisting the Senior Gardener plan

work schedules and assist with the daily running of our gardening projects.

Key areas of responsibility and deliverables expected:

• Maintaining weed free gardens



• Pruning & hedge cutting at the correct time of year to the standards set by GHL



• Topiary shaping and forming (this is an art form and must be treated as such)



• Seasonal lawn management



• Lawn mowing



• Planting to industry best standards



• Staking and tying in of plants to GHL standards



• Management of planted borders



• Pest and disease identification and management



• Assist with planning and implementation of kitchen garden sowing plans



• Assist with planning and implementation of seasonal bedding schemes
