General Maintenance Gardener

Based in Leicestershire, near Melton Mowbray, the Stapleford Estate is currently recruiting for a full time 5 days a week maintenance gardener. The working hours will focus mainly at one property with a mature garden but will include some hours on other parts of the estate., As you will be the only member of the team the role does require a good amount of self-motivation with a love and enthusiasm for plants and gardens. A good knowledge of horticulture and experience within the industry is required; a desire to learn and develop is vital as the role may diversify in time to other parts on the estate. You will need to be good at communicating whilst having good self-motivation. Showing initiative is key.

• Weeding and seasonal pruning and planting.


• Hedge cutting.


• Lawn mowing and border edging.


• Planting of annuals, perennials, bulbs & shrubs.


• Ensure all tools, materials are always maintained.


• Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed.


• Attend staff meetings when required


• Be punctual.


• Look tidy.


• Reliable & flexible


• Good plant knowledge & care
  
  Good horticultural knowledge.


• To be highly organized and efficient time management.


• A desire to develop and learn.


• Full Driving Licence required.


• PA1 & PA6 preferred
