Full Job Description

Job Title: Domestic Assistant / Housekeeper Reporting to: Housekeeper Job purpose: To work as part of a team to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene within the Care Centre, whilst ensuring a safe, comfortable environment at all times. Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications Required: Team player Satisfactory Policy Check and check against the PoVA list Ability to work on own initiative Desired: Experience/qualification in care for relevant Service User category Main responsibilities Cleaning: Daily cleaning o Empty waste bins and wipe out o Vacuum throughout o Shake out cushions o Clean dining rooms/lounges/toilets o Clean taps and sinks o Clean soap dispenser outlets o Clean toothbrush holders o Spot clean all floorings o Wash all bathroom/toilet/en-suite floors Weekly cleaning o Polish all mirrors o Clean all pipe work in toilets o Dust handrails and radiators o Move all mobile furniture (including beds and chairs) and vacuum and dust beneath/behind o Wash out
metal wastepaper bins o Dust and polish furniture and windowsills o Wash lino floors o Shampoo carpets as requested by Housekeeper Week one Dust light bulbs and fittings Week two Dust curtain rails Week three Dust pictures Week four En-suites deep clean Restock toiletries, soaps, towels etc. as and when required Job Description - Domestic Assistant (Housekeeper) Page 2 of 2 Communication: Participate in Staff and Service User meetings as required Complete all relevant documentation Training and Development: Maintain and improve professional knowledge and competence. Attend mandatory training days/course, on or off site as and when required Health & Safety: Adhere to the Care Centres disposal of waste policy Report immediately to the Home Manager or Person in Charge any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a Service Users, colleague, self or another Understand, and ensure the implementation of the Care Centres Health & Safety policy and Emergency and Fire
procedures Report to the Home Manager, Housekeeper, Handyperson or Person in Charge any faulty appliances, damaged furniture equipment or any potential hazard Promote safe working practice in the Care Centre General: An employee needs to understand their safeguarding responsibilities, develop their understanding and skills to reduce the risk of abuse or neglect to adults who need care and support, and safeguard adults in a way that recognises their choice and control Ensure that all existing stocks are maintained in a safe and tidy environment Ensure that all information of confidential nature gained in the course of duty is not divulged to third parties Notify the Home Manager or Person in Charge as soon as possible of your inability to report for duty and also on your return to work from all periods of absence Promote and ensure the good reputation of the Care Centre and the company Ensure the security of the Care Centre is maintained at all times Adhere to
all Company policies and procedures within the defined timescales Ensure all equipment is clean and well maintained Carry out any other tasks that may be reasonably assigned to you This job description indicates only the main duties and responsibilities of the post.
