Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Library Service's team for a Customer Service Apprentice leading to an NVQ level 2 qualification in Customer Service. The post holder will play a key role in supporting frontline services in libraries.,

  • Assisting in routine customer service tasks in a structured environment. This may include meeting, greeting and signposting customers, raising service requests, simple call and issue logging, and switchboard

  • Gaining an understanding of customer requirements and demonstrating the ability to work towards resolving their needs

  • Contributing ideas to the team to assist in improving the customer

  • Assisting in the gathering and delivery of accurate information and

  • communicating with customers by various methods
  • Assisting the updating and maintenance of electronic customer records in accordance with the Data Protection Act

  • With supervision, handling and processing manual and electronic

  • information where care, accuracy and confidentiality are important, for example, scanning and indexing
  • Assisting in the handling of financial data

  • Assisting in the provision of general administrative support for the

  • department including filing, note-taking at meetings, typing, data entry & photocopying
  • With supervision to provide routine support and preparation for court proceedings

  • Undertake other duties appropriate to the grade of the post
