Full Job Description

The Clinical Psychology development post is a role for a newly qualified psychologist our team. It provides assessment and intervention for children and young people who have complex, moderate to severe difficulties. The role is part of a wider multi-disciplinary team which has other Psychologists at various levels of seniority, as well as colleagues form other disciplines. The service is based on pathways and this role is attached to a few specific pathways (depending upon individual interests). As it is a relatively large service the post provides a good overall grounding in working with children and young people with many opportunities to develop specific intervention skills and expertise over time. There will be a requirement to use a range of therapeutic models, however as a service we understand mental illness as often being the result of ACEs and attachment trauma.
The role will provide a qualified specialist clinical psychology service to clients of the Core CAMHS team by providing specialist psychological assessment , formulation and treatment of mental health difficulties. To offer advice and consultation on clients' psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and other non-professional carers. To work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the teams' policies and procedures. To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the area served by the team/service., General
+ To contribute to the development and maintenance of the highest professional standards of practice, through active participation in internal and external CPD training and development programmes, in consultation with the post holder's professional and service manager(s).
+ To contribute to the development and dissemination of best practice in psychology across the service, by continuing to develop the skills of a reflexive and reflective scientist practitioner, taking part in regular professional supervision and appraisal and maintaining an active engagement with current developments in the field of clinical psychology and related disciplines.
+ To maintain the highest standards of clinical record keeping including electronic data entry and recording, report writing and the responsible exercise of professional self-governance in accordance with professional codes of practice of the British Psychological Society and Trust policies and procedures.
+ To maintain up to date knowledge of legislation, national and local policies and issues in relation to both the specific client group and mental health., Applications will be transferred to the TRAC system, by completing an application you are giving authorisation for the transfer of your data.
