  • The ICB Clinical Lead will take the lead for the Integrated Care Bord in developing care across the system that is patient-focussed and data-driven. They will be accountable for strategy, planning and delivery of the relevant outcomes for the areas in which they work. The post holder will be expected to support the medical directorate and wider ICB and ICS colleagues across multiple areas that support the provision of healthcare across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. This includes supporting and developing digital pathways across the primary, secondary and community care interfaces that support effectiveness and efficiency of clinical work bringing their significant clinical expertise to ensure that pathways are fit for purpose.

    Main duties of the job

    The post holder will be responsible for the provision of clinical, patient management and pathway advice to a number of specific groups and individuals as required by the ICB and wider health and care system.

    Lead the development of ICBs vision and strategy across the whole health and care system in the relevant areas, ensuring appropriate projects are in place to support the delivery of desired local outcomes and delivery of value for money.

    Work closely with providers to ensure delivery of services in line with appropriate guidelines.

    Act as the named person in ICB who will respond to issues as required by the ICB.

    Advise on the quality of the care delivered by existing providers for the relevantservices. Practically, this may mean attending some Contract Review meetings or ad hocdiscussions with specific providers where there have been problems identified.Work within organisations in the Integrated Care System footprint to support the delivery of excellent patient care.

    Monitor and report on the system performance against key national/local metrics relevant to the Clinical Leads current areas of focus.

    Develop and approve projects (task and finish groups) that deliver improvements in patient care, as well as improving system operational/financial performance.

    Support whole-system planning (including with local authorities).

    Provide progress reports, as requested, to members of the ICB and wider ICS.
