Full Job Description
- Take a lead role in the daily care, welfare, and management of our livestock.
- Maintain accurate digital records for livestock activities, including breeding, movements, and health treatments.
- Implement and adapt a holistic grazing plan for optimal land management.
- Coordinate the transportation of livestock to the abattoir.
- Assist in the retail aspect of the farm, including meat collection and customer order preparation.
- Train and supervise farm volunteers.
- Ensure the upkeep of farm facilities, machinery, and equipment.
- Assist with fencing, land maintenance, and general farm duties as required.
We're on the lookout for a dedicated individual to join our team on a full-time basis. As an Assistant Farm Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of our farm. If you're passionate about organic and regenerative farming, possess excellent stockmanship skills, and thrive in a hands-on environment, we'd love to hear from you., Proven experience in livestock management is essential. - A farming qualification is preferred.
- Familiarity with organic farming practices is advantageous.
- Thorough understanding of livestock regulations and compliance.
- Proficiency in operating farm machinery and possession of a valid UK driving license.
- Trailer license preferred.
- Highly organised and self-motivated.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and problem-solve effectively.
- Attention to detail and efficiency.
- Proficient in computer skills for data management.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Willingness to work flexible hours., livestock farming: 1 year (required)
Working Hours: - Average 40 hours per week, organised on a rota basis.
- Normal working hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00-17:00, with breaks.
- Weekend hours: Saturday or Sunday, 08:00-10:30.
