Full Job Description

Active Moulds Ltd are looking for an Apprentice fabricator welder to complete a Level 3 Metal Fabricator apprenticeship. This role will entail learning how to work to engineering drawings to fabricate using skills and techniques to achieve the desired outcome. Our experienced staff will oversee the role and provide guidance. Welding will also be key part to this role and this skill will be developed along the side of the fabricating role.

Role & responsibilities

  • Learning how to work to engineering drawings to fabricate using skills and techniques to achieve the desired outcome

  • Reading and understanding engineering drawings/ customer requirements

  • Working closely with experienced staff members to oversee the role and provide guidance

  • MIG welding will also be key part to this role and this skill will be developed along the side of the fabricating role, Active Moulds manufacture moulds for the block paving and masonry Industry. The work team of Active Moulds produce a large range of moulds using the latest computer design programs. Services includes:

  • New Product Development

  • Rapid Response Repairs

  • Recycling Any Existing Mould

    Able to work on own Initiative

  • Good communication skills

  • Problem solving

  • Self-disciplined


  • Personal qualities the candidate must have:
  • Honest

  • Good work ethic

  • Reliable, GCSE English language C or 4 or above

  • GCSE Maths C or 4 or above.

    Applicants are also required to successfully complete a series of assessments at the University of Sheffield's AMRC Training Centre, as well as an employer recruitment and selection process to secure a place on an apprenticeship programme.
