Alumni Engagement Officer

Location: Royal Agricultural University, Cirencester, GL7 6JS

Salary: Grade 6 - A£28,759 to A£33,965 per annum (Depending on experience)

Hours: Permanent, full-time (35 hours per week)

The Alumni Engagement Officer is responsible for advancing the University's alumni engagement and fundraising strategy through a comprehensive alumni relations programme. They will manage the alumni regular giving programme, the Cirencester Fund and expand our digital engagement, creating new and dynamic content for our website, newsletters and social media. The postholder will also lead on alumni events which will require some evening and weekend work (for which time off in lieu will be given). The postholder will work closely with staff to support the engagement of alumni including support for the student mentoring programme for students and career networking events.

The role requires a proactive approach, a flexible and open attitude to new ideas and projects, and the ability to deliver to tight deadlines through effective planning and prioritisation.

This role will report to the Head of Development & Alumni Relations, and will be part of a team of three, which includes a Development Office Administrator. You will be working across departments, liaising with members of the wider External Relations department as well as other colleagues at all levels.

The successful applicant will have experience of fundraising within the Charity or HE sector, as well as alumni relations or other customer relations work. They will have excellent people skills, building rapport and connections with alumni, staff and members of the public, all from diverse backgrounds and walks of life. Some of these individuals will be senior or high profile, and experience of working with stakeholders at this level will be useful. Confidence in public speaking is crucial, as is excellent IT literacy, including management of social media.
